Report for the academic year 2023- 2024
- Event : GATE & JAM 2024, Examination awareness session Date : 19.10.23
Dr.V. KESAVAN, Professor, department of biotechnology, IIT – Madras addressed the gathering on the toppic of “GATE & JAM 2024, Examination awareness session”. Around 100 students participated in the program and got benefitted. Dr. S. Kanimozhi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil has convened the program.
2. Event: World wetland day Date : 02.02.2024
World wet land day was celebrated in collaboration with Environmental Information Awareness, Capacity building and lively hood programm(EIACP) PC – RP jointly organised short video making, drawing competitions on the theme of “ Wetlands and human wellbeing” on the occasion of world wet lands day. Dr. C. Revathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry convened the program. Around 50 number of students participated in drawing competitions and A. Sinduja, M.A, English Literature, N. Lidiya, B.Sc., Computer Science, II Year and T. Mageshwari, B.A. Economics, I Year won first ,second and third prize respectively.
3. Event : Climate Summit 2024 Date : 28.02.2024 & 29.02.2024
Climate Summit 2024 organized by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change was held at ITC Grand Chola, nearly 15 students from various department and Dr. K. Anbarasi & Dr. C.Revathi participated in the event. This trans formative 2-day event occured on 28th and 29th of February-2024. All the participents were given participation certificate by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

4. Event : Global plastic treaty Date : 28.03.2024
Global plastic treaty – “Break free from plastic” an international organisation working on eradicating one time plastics, as a part of it a postcard campaign was initiated by Poovulagin Nanbargal in Tamilnadu zone for the upcoming global plastic treaty, requesting to keep polluters out of the treaty process which was corordinated by Dr.N. Amudha, Assistant Professor, Department of Advanced Zoology and biotechnology.
