Department Of Mathematics

 In the year 1979, the department of Mathematics was incepted in Chellammal Women’s College to serve as Allied Subject for Chemistry major students who had opted Mathematics as Allied subjects.
Chemists utilize mathematics to calculate the energy in reactions, the compression gases, to understand unit conversions and also to understand Exponents & Logarithms. Key role of maths in chemistry is the creation of mathematical models. These are equations or formulas that can predict or describe natural occurrences, such as organism behaviour patterns or population changes over time.
The Department Library is having all kinds of books which are given by the UGC.
Usage of the above areas in collaboration with mathematics assures the students with promising job viz: as Toxicologist, Pharmaceutical Chemist, Forensic scientist etc.
