Library

 The primary mission of our library is to serve the academic community with high quality resources, services and act as a gateway to information to meet the requirements of both staff and students. The Chellammal Women’s College is one of the educational institution established by the Pachaiyappa’s Charities in the year 1971. This college provides quality education for the development of women students in general and underprivileged students from specific areas of Chennai metro city.
The general Library is housed in the separate building – Chellammal Arangam, with the following specifications: Area occupied by the library building – length and breadth are 77.5 feet and 30 feet respectively, with seating capacity for 100 users. It provides a range of library services to the users. The working hours of the general library is from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
According to the accession register, our library contains approximately twenty two thousand books. The E-Resource Centre is equipped with 12 computers that provide internet access for staff and students. Both students and staffs are registered with the National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST), which gives them access to numerous e-journals and e-books.
The Readers Club was established on 16th February 2024, to promote reading habits among students and to develop skills such as writing, drawing and story-telling. The club also encourages participation in various library programs, including book reviews and other literary activities.
