ANTI-DRUG CLUB REPORT-2024
The Anti-Drug Club (ADC) of Chellammal Women’s College organized Intra-Collegiate Poster Making and Oratorical Competitions on 23rd December 2024. About 40 students participated with real creativity, expressing their thoughts on drug abuse as well as drug trafficking and its impact on millions of lives.
Dr. V. Kavitha, the ADC’s Nodal Officer, began with welcoming remarks emphasizing the role of students in fostering a drug-free society.
The Principal, Dr. V. Malarvizhi addressed the gathering and highlighted the need for proactive measures and initiatives that has to be taken by the ADC to eradicate drug abuse in society. She further encouraged the students to act as ambassadors of the drug-free lifestyle spreading awareness among their peers and community.
Dr. V. Mahalakshmi Natchathiram, Head of the Department of Commerce and Committee Member, elaborated on the importance of collective community efforts in promoting a drug-free environment.
Later the students took part in the Oratorical Competition, captivating the audience with their enchanting and informative speech.
The students were also engaged in the poster-making competition and depicted their colourful and thought-provoking posters on Anti-Drugs with titles such as “Chase your Dreams- Not Drugs”, “It’s Never Too Late to Stop”, “Drugs Aren’t Cool, They Make You Fool”, “Choose Health Not Drugs”, “Kick Drugs Before They Kick You”, etc.
The programme concluded with the Prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the contests. The Competition has successfully created an impact on the participants by insisting on a deeper sense of the understanding of the dangers of drugs.

போதை எதிர்ப்பு அமைப்பு துவக்க விழா

இன்றைய சமுதாயத்தில் போதை என்பது பொருட்களில் தொடங்கி பழக்க வழக்கங்கள் என வரையறை இல்லாமல் சமுதாயத்தைச் சிதைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. இத்தகைய போதைக்கு எதிரானவர்களாக இளைய சமுதாயத்தை மாற்ற வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்தோடு கல்லூரியில் போதைக்கு எதிரான அமைப்பு துவங்கப்பட்டது. 26.09.2024 அன்று செல்லம்மாள் மகளிர் கல்லூரியின் “போதைக்கு எதிரான அமைப்பின்” (Anti -Drug club) துவக்க விழா நடைப்பெற்றது.
இத்துவக்க விழாவில் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர் திருமதி வே.மலர்விழி அவர்கள் போதைப் பழக்கத்தின் தீமையையும் அதனால் ஏற்படும் விளைவுகளையும் மாணவியர்களுக்கு அறிவுறுத்தும் வகையில் தலைமையுரை ஆற்றினார். இந்நிகழ்விற்கு கிண்டி காவல் நிலையத்தின் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் திரு.C.பிரபு அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக அழைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார். அவர் மாணவியர்களிடையே போதைப் பழக்கம் தனி மனிதனின் வாழ்வை சிதைக்க கூடிய நிலையை எடுத்துரைத்தார். போதைக்கு அடிமையாக கூடியவர்கள் தன்னுடைய வாழ்க்கையை மட்டுமல்லாமல் தன்னைச் சுற்றி இருக்கக்கூடியவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையையும் பாதிக்கக் கூடியவர்களாக மாறுகின்றனர். போதை என்ற பழக்கத்திற்கு அடிமையாகி தனி மனித ஒழுக்கத்தை இழந்து பல்வேறு கெட்ட பழக்க வழக்கங்களையும் உருவாக்கிக் கொள்கின்றனர்.
இத்தகையவர்களால் சமுதாயத்தின் சூழல் என்பது சீர்குலைந்து வருகிறது. அதனை செம்மைப்படுத்துவது இன்றைய இளைய தலைமுறையின் கடமையாக இருக்கிறது என்பதனை மாணவர்களிடையே அறிவுறுத்தினார். மேலும் இப்போதை பழக்கத்திற்கு அடிமையானவர்களையோ அல்லது அவர்களால் தீங்கு ஏற்படும் போதோ அஞ்சாமல் காவல்துறைக்கு தெரிவிப்பதற்கான வழிமுறைகளையும் எடுத்துரைத்தார். சமுதாயத்தை பாதிக்க கூடியவர்களைத் தட்டிக் கேட்கவும் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக துணிந்து நிற்கவும் தைரியம் கொண்டவர்களாக மாற வேண்டும் என்றார். மேலும் இத்தகையவர்களைப் பற்றி புகார் தெரிவிக்க கூடிய எண்களை பற்றியும் அறிவுறுத்தினார்.
முன்னதாக இவ்வமைப்பின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் மற்றும் கல்லூரி ஆட்சிக்குழு உறுப்பினர் முனைவர் திருமதி வீ.கவிதா அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை நல்கி தொடங்கி வைத்தார். இந்நிகழ்விற்கு போதைக்கு எதிரான அமைப்பின் (Anti -Drug club) உறுப்பினர் மற்றும் முதுகலைத் தமிழியல் மற்றும் உயிராய்வுத் துறையின் துறை தலைவர் முனைவர் திருமதி ப.விமலா அவர்கள் இத்தகைய நல்லதொரு நிகழ்விற்கு நன்றியுரை வழங்கினார். இவ்மைப்பின் உறுப்பினர் மற்றும் விலங்கியல் துறையின் துறைத்தலைவர் முனைவர் திருமதி S.செந்தில்குமாரி அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டார். இந்நிகழ்வில் 200க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு பயன் பெற்றனர்.
இன்றைய சமுதாயத்தில் பெருகி வரும் போதை என்னும் தீமையை அழிக்கும் படையாக செல்லம்மாள் மகளிர் கல்லூரி மாணவியர்கள் விளங்குவதற்கான முதற்படியாக போதைக்கு எதிரான அமைப்பு(Anti -Drug club) விளங்குகிறது.
