AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON AIDS, SEXUALLY
TRANSMITTED DISEASE AND TUBERCULOSIS
<\/strong><\/h3><\/div>

he Red Ribbon Club of chellammal Women\u2019s College organized an awareness programme on HIV\/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Disease and Drug Abuse. Mr.Jeeva, Counsellor, Kilpauk Medical College addressed about drug usage and its various psychological issues, Mrs.B.Umadevi,Counsellor, Saidapet Maternity hospital addressed on four means of transmission of HIV and the various precautionary measures; Mrs.Bharani Vasudevan, District Supervisor, DAPCU created awareness about psychological handling of aids affected patients; Mrs. Beulah, Counsellor,UPHC, Adyar emphasized on social responsibility towards AIDS patient..Mrs.Ashwini, South Chennai PPM Co-ordinator, NTEP, Mr. Prakash, Head Quarters PPM Co-ordinator-NTEP and Mrs. Dharshika, Senior treatment Supervisor, Chennai Corporation addressed the student about various means of transmission of Tuberculosis, their symptoms and TB DOTS.About 80 students from Shift-I and 78 students from Shift-II gathered in Seminar Hall at 9.50 A.M.

2. Red ribbion club volunteers of our college participated in RED RUN MARATHON organised by Tamilnadu state AIDS control society on 10.09.2024 at Island ground around 6.30 A.M. Our college student Ms. P.Prithiya, II BA Tamil bagged third prize at district level and got selected to state level RED RUN MARATHON held at Tirupur. Ms.S.Santhiya, II BBA secured consolation prize.<\/p>

3. Red ribbion club of Chellammal Women\u2019s college received letter from DAPCU to organise \u201cFLASH MOB\u201d on HIV\/AIDS awareness in front of Government Maternity Hospital, Saidapet on 25\/9\/2024 and the same was organised with the help of Parai team and dance team of our college. The students performed flash mob and pamphlets were distributed to public regarding HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>
