DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>\nABOUT THE DEPARTMENT<\/strong><\/h3>\nThe Department of English was started in the year 1972, offering foundation course in English for PUC students and the Bachelor\u2019s Degree in English Literature was offered from the year 1974.
Susan was the first Head of the Department, followed by Mrs. Pamela Samuel, Mrs. Theresa Jayshree, Mrs. R. Kayarkanni, Ms. P.T Shantha, Mrs. Mythili Narayanan, Dr. S Sreelatha, Mrs. S Jagadeeswari, Dr G Premasundari and Dr V Kavitha.
Add-on courses on Journalism and Advertising were conducted until the UGC funds were available. The department is run by vibrant teachers helping the students to express effectively in English and make them realize that the lessons in the texts are also lessons in life to excel in any field they choose.<\/h4>\n
