Department of Economics had conducted Seminar titled \u201cTWENTY EIGHT YEARS OF ECONOMIC REFORMS IN INDIA\u201d on 1st October 2018. Dr. A. Duraisamy, M. Sc., M.B.A., M. Phil., Ph.D, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Economics & Dean of Humanities, Madras Christian College, Chennai was our chief Guest on that day.<\/p>

Department of Economics has organized \u201cInauguration of Economics Association\u201d. The association was presided by our principal
Dr.V. Mahalakshmi Natchathiram co- ordinated Dr.M.S.Sumathi Head of the Department of Economics the organizing committee members were the department staffs. Chief Guest Dr. S.Jaya Raman Associate Professor and Head Department of Economics, Presidency College (Autonomous), Chennai-5 Inaugurated the Economic Association on 16th February 2023.
Our students have participated in many inter collegiate competition help in different colleges.
From our department in cultural programme \u201cKalaisangam\u201d on stage events. Our 3rd year student P.Durga Lakshmi won the Ist prize bridal makeup. In Group Gana song events Ist prize was bagged our students from 2nd year in \u201cAdop tunes\u201d students won IInd prize.
In Group Dance M.Keerthana got IInd prize and Group Mime show events M.Bula got 2nd prize, IIIrd prize for Retro was won by IInd years.
In off stage events H.Jayashree and P.Durga Lakshmi IIIrd year got IInd prize Hair Do , M.Vinodhini Ist year got Ist prize Bouquet making and V.Thenmozhi Ist year got IIIrd Prize in \u201cEnglish Poetry\u201d. S.Menaka Ist year got Ist prize \u201cPencil Drawing\u201d. A.Faritha Banu Ist year got 2nd prize in \u201cFace Painting\u201d.
In our college sports events our Department students got IInd prize in \u201cKho- Kho\u201d. In \u201cBall Batmiton\u201d Ist prize in \u201cHand Ball\u201d was bagged by the students Ist prize. Ist place in IIIrd year students got Ist place in discuss throw and Ist place won by our student in again relay, (4×100)Ist place was won by our student S.Reethi \u201cBall Batminton we got IIIrd place. Ist prize won for \u201cBasket Ball\u201d. Ist prize won for \u201cThrow Ball\u201d A.Santhiya Ist year Ist prize in 200mm, 400mm, and long jump, Kannalahari Sri IInd year got Ist prize in High Jump and IIIrd prize Long Jump. M.Sandhiya Priya Ist prize got IIIrd prize in kabadi.
Overall champion for sports was won by Economics Department for the year 2022-2023.We also received IIIrd place in \u201cMarch past\u201d in sports meet.<\/p>

Our students P.Durga Lakshmi IIIrd year has been elected as a NSS secretary and S.Rithanya off IInd year has been elected as Deputy Minister for the year 2022-2023.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
